What to Bring
There are no uniform requirements, however, there is work and will be field problems, so you will be expected to bring proper clothing, footwear, sleep system, food and water, and other items to be comfortable during the entire event without outside assistance or burdening the rest of the participants.
Shelter, such as tent, tarp, hammock, etc. There are several structures on site but they are probably not suitable for staying in, so plan on sleeping in your own shelter, or in your vehicle if you are that type.
While winter doesn't reliably hit until January in this region, torrential rains, ice storms, deep snow and cold are all entirely plausible. Also note that local conditions can vary a great deal from the regional forecast. For example, temperature changes of 20° F from the forecast. With steep hills and water courses, plan for cold conditions, bring heat sources, fire making, shelters, and cold and wet weather clothing regardless of what you expect from watching the local news.
For a guide as to the type of equipment to bring, you may wish to review the equipment requirements for CWG force-on-force events.
If you wish: bring one or many live fire weapons for use during the famfire, and . If you have a BFA, bring it as we may be trying something with blank fire weapons. Keep all live weapons unloaded, and cased, until you are instructed to remove them from the case.
If you can: bring at least one airsoft rifle for the simulation practice portions.
If you can: Tools! Saws, including chainsaws, pruners and loppers, rakes and shovels, fence mending equipment, old wooden building stabilization and repair stuff, wasp spray just in case, and small hand tools for the planned shelter maintenance.
Loaded handguns are permitted on your body, but only with a holster designed for that handgun. Do not remove the handgun from the holster for any reason (short of defense of self or others) under penalty of ejection from the event, at any time.
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks. You may coordinate with others to make team meals. Remember to bring spare nutritious snacks as there is a lot of movement through difficult terrain. Additionally, there may be a night movement, so you may need a fourth "meal" for the extended time awake. Toughing it out or candy won't do.
What We Will Provide
Group dinner both Friday and Saturday nights.
Tools for the work party activities
At least one truck, to transport tools, equipment, and you when access is available to work sites.
Targets, tables, lighting and flagging for live fire time. We also will probably bring an unreasonable number of guns as we have a number of things that may be unusual, and you can try them out.
Night vision and thermal imaging devices, for familiarization, night shooting and on a pretty first-come, random-assignment manner for night movement. There are fewer helmets and other pieces of headgear then NODs so also ask about that if needed, and bring your own if you have a suitable one.
Radios, most likely a mix of VHF-low (30-45 mhz) and FRS/GMRS if you want to bring your own instead.
CWG will also provide water, a small climate-controlled shelter for use in the event of especially inclement weather or for those ill-prepared for the conditions, vehicle transport on field, and emergency transport and supplies in the event of injury during the event. In addition we will enforce accountability and safety such as inspection abd securing of your equipment and weapon systems, and if cold weather is expected may bring heaters and additional shelters as emergency backup.
